About High Country Landworks
High Country Landworks was built to be the one call for property work that usually takes three or four different contractors — landscaping, driveways, drainage, land clearing, and outdoor living all draw on the same equipment, planning, and site knowledge, so there’s no reason to hire it out in pieces.
The company started as side work alongside our existing careers. Referrals kept coming, the jobs kept getting bigger, and it turned into a full-time operation. We’re still growing — more equipment, more crew, bigger and more involved projects.
Our background isn’t classroom-learned. It’s ranching, farming, drilling rigs, underground and surface mining, mountain road construction, blasting crews, highwall and road-cut stabilization, excavation, grading, and fire mitigation on mine properties — years of working around heavy machinery, unpredictable terrain, and conditions that change fast. That’s the foundation everything else got built on.
On top of that, we bring construction and landscaping know-how, finish work, and material planning — which is how we ended up handling landscaping, hardscaping, decks, patios, retaining walls, driveways and private roads, culverts, drainage, fire mitigation, thinning, land clearing, mowing, brush hogging, demolition, cleanouts, and snow plowing under one company.
Most projects aren’t just one thing. A patio needs excavation, grading, drainage, and retaining work before it’s a patio. A driveway needs reshaping, material, and often a culvert. We plan for that from the start instead of treating each piece as a separate job — one company, one plan, from the first site visit to done.
Ten years of that discipline also came from the cockpit — check instructor, airline captain, and medevac flying, where the standard is simple: plan for what could go wrong, communicate clearly, and don’t cut corners. That’s the same standard we hold on a job site, whether we’re regrading a driveway or building a patio.
